Biblical repentance is God's rough embrace. There is bruising and brokenness, but also joyous relief and celebration--because it is a matter of God turning a sinner from the wretchedness of his sins and unto the Savior, Jesus Christ, in whom forgiveness and salvation is found. The word "repent," most simply defined, means "to turn." There is no forgiveness without repentance, and there is no repentance without turning, because repentance IS turning...God turning a sinner from his sin, and to Christ crucified.
