"Confession Practicum"
I John 1:9, 2:2

This message touches on some of the practical matters pertaining to the confession of sin. One of the struggles is our tendency to get hung up on contrition (sorrow over our guilt), and thus not take refuge in the mercy of Christ and His finished work (faith). But true repentance always includes both contrition and faith. We must confess our general sinfulness, as well as specific sin over which the Holy Spirit is bringing conviction. And we must confess to God above all, but also to those persons we have wronged by our sin. And confession to a trusted, mature Christian can also be of great benefit to our assurance of God's forgiveness.
