"A Father's Effect - A Case Study"
Length Approximately 00:36:15
I Samuel 2, Job 1, Acts 10
---
Today's message took a look at some examples from Scripture of fathers dealing with their children. We looked together at a bad example, a couple of good examples, and the perfect example God Himself. As fathers we have an immense effect on the spiritual lives of our children. We must be leaders in prayer and in encouraging worship as a priority. May God's grace strengthen men to lead their families as God intends.

"How to be a Successful Spiritual Dad"
Length Approximately 00:49:57
Ephesians 6:4
---
Fathers are tasked by the Lord with the responsibility of imparting to their children, by means of the Word of God, a truly Biblical education and worldview. We are to use the Word of God to teach our children what is right (in doctrine and ethics), and to correct them when they are in the wrong. This is what is meant by "the training and instruction of the Lord." And several practical ideas of how to go about doing this were discussed.

"Headship - God's Creative Design"
Length Approximately 00:48:39
Eph. 6:4, Gen. 2:18-25
----
Behind God's call to fathers to exercise spiritual leadership lies the doctrine of male headship, a doctrine laid out in Genesis 2. This text serves as the theological underpinnings of male headship in the family and in the congregation, a family of families. And this doctrine, contrary to common belief, does not place women in a position of disadvantage or inferiority! Rightly understood and practiced, it elevates and honors women as being utterly indispensable, beautifully unique, and priceless. Authority and submission are entirely positive concepts in God's creative design.

"Consistency"
Length Approximately 00:40:52
Deut. 6
---
Consistency is the second necessity of spiritual leadership, essential in making the Word of God and the Christ of the Word the heart of the family. As the spiritual leaders of their homes, fathers (with ignited hearts and engaged wills) are called by God to be consistent in "impressing" the truth of God's Word upon the minds and hearts of their children. This consistency does not require advanced training or a genius IQ...but it does require intentionality, effort, and presence. All of this is supplied by the grace and strength of Christ. So fathers must continually cling to Him.

"Authenticity and Consistency"
Length Approximately 00:41:24
Deut. 6
---
This message covers the necessity of parental authenticity--specifically on the part of fathers--in the matter of making the Word of God, and the Christ of the Word, the heart of the family. Deut. 6:6 says the Word must be upon our hearts--meaning it must be the authentic passion of a father's heart. Spiritual leadership is all heart! And if Christ and His Word is not the authentic passion of a father's heart...it is not very likely to become the authentic passion of his children's hearts either. It doesn't have to be perfect...just authentic. And blessing will follow.
